On May 22, 2024, Viglacera, in collaboration with Shinhan Bank – South Korea, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, KOTRA, and the Embassy of Vietnam in South Korea, successfully organized the seminar “One-Stop Service: Supporting Korean SMEs and Start-ups Entering the Vietnamese Market” in Seoul, South Korea. The event attracted over 100 businesses interested in investing in Vietnam.
This is the first time the Ministry of SMEs and Startups of South Korea has cooperated with businesses to organize an event aimed at supporting the overseas expansion of small and medium-sized enterprises. Vietnam, a country many businesses have chosen as a key destination in this strategy, was highlighted. Furthermore, Vietnam’s industrial park model, including Viglacera’s, was selected as the first topic of introduction. The seminar provided useful information that investors need when entering the Vietnamese market.
Mrs. Oh Young-ju, Minister of SMEs and Startups (former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of South Korea to Vietnam), stated: “We consider Vietnam an important country in South Korea’s global expansion strategy. The fact has proven that in recent years, Vietnam is indeed where most South Korean companies choose as their ‘headquarters’ to expand their investment and business activities.”
According to Mrs. Oh Young-ju, “Vietnam is South Korea’s third-largest trading partner and the country with the second-largest number of SMEs after the US. Although many South Korean companies have successfully chosen Vietnam as their investment destination, the potential has not been fully realized as desired. I want to say that there are still many opportunities for Korean SMEs in this country, given Vietnam’s promising economic growth in the coming period. Conversely, I also believe Korean businesses will significantly contribute to Vietnam’s economic development.”
Viglacera was honored to welcome Ambassador Vu Ho and Mrs. Oh Young-ju to visit the business support consulting booth
Within the framework of the event, direct (1:1) consultation sessions were organized at Viglacera’s booth to provide investment information about Vietnam and introduce industrial parks. With 25 years of experience in industrial park development, Viglacera offers a one-stop service, committed to accompanying and supporting partners throughout the investment process until the facilities are operational.
To date, Viglacera has developed 14 industrial parks in Vietnam and one economic zone in Central America, attracting $18 billion in FDI from over 400 domestic and international businesses, including industry titans such as Samsung, Amkor, Hyosung, Anam Electronics, Hana Micron, Kortek, Orion, and Ottogi.
