Shinhan Bank – A New Strategic Partner of Viglacera in Attracting FDI from South Korea

by Viglacera IP / Friday, 21 March 2025 / Published in Viglacera IP News

Following the recent signing of a sales representative agreement in Japan, Viglacera Real Estate Company has further expanded its international sales network by entering into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shinhan Bank Vietnam. This collaboration marks a key milestone in Viglacera’s strategy to enhance foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows, particularly from South Korean enterprises, into its industrial parks.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Tran Ngoc Anh, Director of Viglacera Real Estate Company, and Mr. Ryu Je Eun, Deputy General Director of Shinhan Bank Vietnam.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Ko Tae Yeon, Chairman of the Korean Business Association in Vietnam (Kocham), underscoring the strong and longstanding ties between Viglacera and the South Korean business community. This partnership further strengthens Viglacera’s commitment to attracting increased investment from South Korea, a priority market for the company. South Korea has consistently been a vital source of investment in Viglacera’s industrial parks, with numerous prominent corporations such as Samsung, Amkor Technology, Hyosung, Anam Electronics, and Hana Micron choosing Viglacera’s industrial parks for their operations. Currently, over 100 South Korean enterprises are operating within Viglacera’s industrial parks, with a combined investment exceeding $12 billion.

Shinhan Bank, a subsidiary of Shinhan Financial Group (SFG), is one of South Korea’s largest commercial banks and listed on both the Korea Stock Exchange (KRX) and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Established in 1897, Shinhan Bank has expanded its global presence and currently operates in over 20 countries, including the United States, China, South Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, and several European nations.

In Vietnam, Shinhan Bank began operations in 1993 and has since maintained its position as the largest foreign bank in terms of assets and network reach, with 54 branches and transaction offices across the northern, central, and southern regions. Beyond providing financial services to businesses, Shinhan Bank plays a vital role in supporting FDI companies from South Korea, China, and other international markets in establishing and expanding their production bases in Vietnam. With its extensive network and strong reputation, Shinhan Bank will assist Viglacera in promoting investment both domestically and internationally. Through this partnership, Shinhan Bank will provide consulting services, facilitate connections, and introduce potential investors seeking land in Viglacera’s industrial parks, further driving FDI inflows into Vietnam.

Viglacera, a leading industrial park developer in Vietnam, has over 25 years of experience in developing sustainable industrial parks, attracting more than $20 billion in investment.

The partnership between Shinhan Bank and Viglacera Real Estate Company is built on mutual trust, respect, and a shared strategic vision. By leveraging their collective expertise, resources, and networks, the two parties aim to streamline investment processes for South Korean companies looking to invest in Vietnam. The MoU sets the stage for expanding and diversifying their customer base, enhancing investment promotion activities, and attracting more South Korean enterprises to establish manufacturing facilities within Viglacera’s industrial parks.

This collaboration not only reinforces Viglacera’s leadership position in the industrial park development sector but also strengthens the economic partnership between Vietnam and South Korea. It serves as a clear demonstration of Viglacera’s commitment to attracting high-quality investments, contributing to the sustainable growth of Vietnam’s industrial sector in the years to come.
