This morning, July 13th, Viglacera Corporation celebrated the grand opening of the international 5-star resort, Angsana Quan Lan HaLong Bay Hotel & Resort.
Prominent guests included Mr. Nguyen Tuong Van, Deputy Minister of Construction; Mr. Cao Tuong Huy, Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee; Ms. Vi Ngoc Bich, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council, along with other local leaders. Representing Viglacera were Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, General Director, and the leadership team of Viglacera Van Hai JSC, alongside numerous partners involved in the project.

At 10 AM, the ceremony commenced with Mr. Nguyen The Chinh, General Director of Viglacera Van Hai JSC, presenting an overview of the project’s achievements. He emphasized the significant work completed in Phase 1 and how Viglacera’s careful selection of partners ensured the project’s high quality. Viglacera signed a partnership with the Banyan Group from Singapore, a leading group managing over 70 luxury hotels in 25 countries. They selected other contractors based on strict criteria, including design consulting from PTW in Australia, tropical landscape design by LJ from Brazil, and interior design by Dark Horse from Spain. Construction and installation contractors were also chosen with rigorous standards.
Mr. Nguyen The Chinh shared that completing Phase 1 of the project sets the stage for Viglacera to move forward with Phase 2, expanding the project to 75 hectares, adding 150 villas and modern amenities

In his congratulatory speech, Mr. Cao Tuong Huy, Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, praised Viglacera’s efforts and expressed great confidence that the company would bring new opportunities to the local area. He highlighted that Viglacera is not just about building materials or real estate; it is creating opportunities for the region to develop its tourism and resort industry.
The area now hosting Angsana Quan Lan was once used for sand mining to produce glass. However, Viglacera adapted to market demands, demonstrating flexibility and creativity to develop tourism opportunities. Mr. Cao Tuong Huy commended Viglacera’s commitment and responsibility in developing the project, involving top domestic and international contractors for design and construction. Viglacera chose the prestigious five-star international management brand, Banyan Tree Group, to operate the resort.
These achievements give him confidence in Viglacera’s future with the Angsana Quan Lan HaLong Bay project. With government support to develop Van Don into a premier island tourism area or an international commercial center, Angsana Quan Lan HaLong Bay is set to become a renowned destination not only in Vietnam but also internationally.
Mr. Cao Tuong Huy emphasized that Viglacera has a long-standing relationship with Quang Ninh. Viglacera businesses are present throughout the province, with two industrial parks, Hai Yen and Dong Mai, having occupancy rates of 80-90%
At 11 AM, the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the 5-star Angsana Quan Lan Hotel was conducted, marking a significant milestone for Quang Ninh province and Van Don island district.
The Angsana Quan Lan project journey, from groundbreaking to completion, occurred amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite these challenges, the project was successfully completed, adding a world-class 5-star resort to Viglacera’s portfolio.
The official launch of Angsana Quan Lan signifies more than just a key economic project for Quang Ninh province; it represents another achievement for Viglacera and a profound joy for Van Don residents, preserving and enhancing their island environment.
