According to the plan, the groundbreaking ceremony will take place on April 12, 2026, at the construction site of the Ha Long Green Station in Tuan Chau and Viet Hung wards, Quang Ninh province.
This is a key inter-regional transportation infrastructure project with strategic significance for the socio-economic development of Quang Ninh province. The event also aims to celebrate the success of the 16th National Assembly elections and the elections of People’s Council representatives at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, creating a vibrant atmosphere of emulation among all levels, sectors, the business community, and the people of the entire province.
The project’s commencement creates new momentum for the next phase of Quang Ninh’s development. At the same time, it concretizes the province’s 2026 work theme: “Promoting regional linkages, sustainable development, and completing a synchronous and modern transportation infrastructure system”; and promotes investment attraction activities in Quang Ninh province and related provinces in the context of economic recovery and international integration.

The Hanoi – Quang Ninh High-Speed Railway Project is a double-track, electrified railway project with a gauge of 1,435mm. The total length is approximately 120km, with a maximum design speed of 350km/h. The project starts at Co Loa Station (Hanoi) and ends at Tuan Chau Public Park, Tuan Chau Ward.
Toàn tuyến bố trí 5 ga, gồm các ga: Cổ Loa, Gia Bình, Ninh Xá, Yên Tử, Hạ Long Xanh; 1 Depot tại ga Hạ Long Xanh, phường Tuần Châu, tỉnh Quảng Ninh. Dự kiến dự án sẽ hoàn thành và đưa vào khai thác trong năm 2028.
